Edinburgh: Part Two

After a few months away from the headspace of blogging about my ventures around the UK and Europe, I decided it was well past time I got back into it. During my time off I had to chance to visit some incredible places on what was truly a once and a life time trip, but more on that to come in future posts!

Today I want to share the final post from my time spent in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. I loved exploring the city, the weather was gorgeous and the area was thriving throughout the three days I spent wandering across the gardens and various attractions. There is so much history to absorb, almost every corner has a tale or two to share!

On my second day I revisited several of the locations I had seen the night before as we had been pushed for time. There are so many different shops and areas of the city that are pleasant enough to just stroll around as well as museums and art galleries. If you have the time, also make your way over to Holyrood palace for a look around the Queen’s official Scottish residence. I spent several hours listening to the history of the buildings on a self guided tour and then strolled around the bottom end of the royal mile. Later in the day I stopped by the main art gallery, where I saw both Van Gogh and Monet paintings in person for the first time!

After several days of sight seeing in the two major cities of Scotland this was just the beginning of an amazing trip throughout the country. A perfect introduction to the land and its people, my next posts will from my adventure across to Stirling and onwards to the incredible Scottish highlands!
